About Jamilet
Jamilet Alegria, MD is a Board Certified Pediatrician with over 15 years of experience providing high-quality, compassionate care to children and families across multiple clinical settings. Dr. Alegria graduated with her Medical Doctorate from the University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine, and completed her Pediatric Residency in California at Children’s Hospital of Orange County. After residency, she served as Chief Resident before accepting a position as a Pediatric Hospitalist at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, where she held a faculty position at the University of Southern California, Keck School of Medicine. She then worked 4 years as a Pediatric Hospitalist at a community hospital setting affiliated with Children’s Hospital of Orange County.
After working for several years in the medical field, Dr. Alegria became increasingly interested in how nutrition and lifestyle factors influence health and wellness. In order to practice more holistically, she moved her family from California to Georgia and worked for 3 years as a Functional and Integrative Pediatrician for a private practice in Atlanta, GA. Since 2019, Dr. Alegria has worked as an Urgent Care Pediatrician with Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, while also providing virtual medical care to children nationwide with Blueberry Pediatrics. She also has experience in medical consulting for search engines and online video platforms with the goal of combatting medical misinformation.
Dr. Alegria is also a mom who knows first-hand about all the ages and stages. She loves spending time with her two kids who have a nine-year age gap. Her son is her medical school baby – currently a thriving college student who comes home just for breaks and holidays (so that time is precious!). Her daughter is in 5th grade, is the life of the party, and keeps her mom busy with soccer games and theater rehearsals. Whenever she has any time off, you will find Dr. Alegria heading off to her next travel destination. In fact, she always has at least three future trips planned and her kids are always ready to hop on a plane with her.
